Eligibility

Full-time employees and their dependents are eligible for benefits on the first day of the month following your date of hire.

You may enroll your eligible dependents in many of the same plans you chose for yourself. Eligible dependents include:

  • Your legal spouse
  • Your domestic partner*
  • Your child(ren) up to age 26 (regardless of student status) who are:
    • Natural born
    • Adopted
    • Stepchildren

*Domestic partner has taxable income implications & you must complete a form registering your domestic partner. Opposite sex & same-sex are eligible.

Enrolling in or Making Changes to Your Benefits

The choices you make when you first become eligible remain in effect for the remainder of the plan year. It’s important to review your medical options and choose the best coverage for you and your family.

You have three opportunities to enroll or make changes:

  1. Within 30 days of your date of hire
  2. Within 30 days of a qualified life event. Examples include:
    • Marriage or divorce
    • Birth or adoption of a child
    • Covered dependents no longer meet eligibility definition
    • You become disabled
    • Your dependent passes away
    • Your employment at alliantgroup ends
    • You or a covered dependent lose coverage through another plan
    • Change in health coverage for you or your spouse attributable to your spouse’s employment
    • Change in eligibility for Medicaid or Medicare
  3. During the annual open enrollment period

Note: You have 30 days from the life event date to make changes to your coverage.

Evaluate Your Needs

Be a smart health care shopper and ask yourself the following questions:

  • Who should I cover with my benefits? Evaluate your coverage options for all dependents who meet eligibility requirements.
  • How much did I spend on health care this past year? Consider your past expenses to help you plan for the future.
  • Will I need more or less health care coverage next year? Estimate the amount of health care you’ll require in the upcoming year.

Enroll Online

Log in to Workday to enroll in or make changes to your benefits.

Each year, you need to decide if you want to participate in a Flexible Spending Account. You must designate the amount you want to set aside from each paycheck (amount cannot exceed annual IRS limits).

Confirm & Submit Your Enrollment

Review your confirmation summary statement to make sure your benefits and dependent information are correct. Please email talentmanagement@alliantgroup.com with any questions.
